My Background

I've been a PT (personal trainer) since 2014, working initially in commercial gyms, but going independent during the 2020 pandemic.

I love working as a PT. Over the years I've helped so many people learn about exercise, enjoy workouts, become fitter, stronger, happier and more confident. I'm regularly astonished at what my clients achieve.

 

I think my greatest strengths as a personal trainer are my patience, knowledge, experience and empathy.

 

I meet my clients where they are:- I can give a fit individual workouts to keep them challenged and seeing progress, and I can help retirees learn how to exercise safely and effectively. I've helped people become stronger than they ever believed and make progress despite chronic physical and mental health conditions.

I'm not like most PT's. I had an 8 year career in the insurance industry before I became a PT, so I know what it's like to balance a 9 to 5 (plus the extra hours!) and your health and fitness habits. 

​

I've been training for over 30 years, from participating in a range of sports (rugby, squash, swimming, martial arts, half marathons, obstacle course races, CrossFit) and using exercise for health and fitness for 25 years (I got my first weights set when I was 16, training in my parent's garage!). 

​

Nowadays I enjoy functional fitness training (a mix of weight training, bodyweight exercises and conditioning workouts).
